When you have an expecting baby /babies, there are a lot of things you need to consider. Baby cots /cribs / beds and other furniture probably the most important items to purchase. There are a lot of types of cots / beds or crib furniture.  Number one priority is safety and a guarantee that goes with this safety. The last thing you want to do is look back after something has happen and think ‘why didn’t i do the research on the safety component.

Here are some tips for you to help decide on the right type of furniture for your little one.

Number One: Safety – Do not deviate from this

All new baby cots /cribs / beds sold in the US/ Europe & Aus will pass safety standards required by the Consumer Product Safety Commission standards. Always check the labels or tags that come with bedding

If you are given a used bedding by a relative, or if you decide to buy a used bedding from eBay, make sure the bedding has not been recalled for safety issues. You can do this by going to the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

Number Two: Choose the Right Size

If you intend to use the convertible cot /crib /bed after your baby outgrows their toddler bed, you will want to make sure the cot / crib /bed will convert to the right sized bed. Some cots / cribs /beds  will convert to twin-sized beds, while others convert to full-sized. Many kids bedrooms will not have room for a full-sized bed, plus a dresser, a desk, and other furniture needed by older kids. For this reason, you should look beyond the style and make sure you will be able to use past the toddler stage

Number three: Find the correct price

Convertible cots /cribs  /beds are sold in a very huge range of prices, from under $200 to well over $1,000. Any new cot /crib /bed will should conform to modern safety standards, but different brands may be stronger than others, and may have finishes that will out last others.
